chickens!!

just a quick post to say we collected ou chickens late yesterday afternoon.we have fallen instantly in love with Boris,Dylis,Featherly and mrs Cluckington.The dogs and cat however don't seem to be so keen.

chicken shed

The chicken shed was constructed today and duly christened Cluckington Towers,will move it into its permanant home tomorrow to await it's residents.Other than that not much to report,children have broken up from school and various christmas present loose ends tied up.
Have harvested parsnips and made into a parsnip and mixed nut roast for christmas day.

jobs for today

well..we take delivery of our hen house on thursday,,which is very exiting.comes as a flat pack however so will need a hand from the hubbie to assemble.Luckily he's not one for cutting corners unlike me so at least it should be built properly!
planning a trip to the allotment this afternoon,just to take a bucket of kitchen waste to compost,and maybe harvest a few leeks for tonights meal,leek and cashew nut bake.
Also need to finish knitting jumper for my 2 year old nephews christmas present and thats all xmas presents boxed off,feel very virtuous and organized this year which probably means i've forgotten something essential!!
